Dr. Dre is most well known as a rapper and producer, for his part in Still D.R.E. and The Next Episode, two of the greatest rap albums of all time which he produced and features as a rapper on. These albums as well as his role in N.W.A are classic and pivotal moments in the period of the 1990s.

Yet, you probably see Dr. Dre marks in your current life more than you may recognize. For example, many people forget Dre is the CEO of Beats Electronics and was a previous president of Death Row Records. Much of the hip hop we hear these days, as well as the gear they listen to them on, is still heavily influenced by Dre.

One thing people still recognize Dre for is his physique and body which has always been stocky and wide. Since he came out to perform at the Superbowl Halftime Show in 2022, people have been curious how the 57-year-old stays in such great shape, being particularly hench in this performance. Let’s explore his workout routine and diet together.

Dr. Dre’s Weight And Height

Dr. Dre’s Workout Routine

Dre clearly has a physique that has been sculpted like a statute of a roman god. This requires a serious amount of cardiovascular workout as well as intense strength training to build muscles.

Dre has reported before himself that he often does a weightlifting workout five times a week. His workout routine alternates between body weight exercises and more intense weightlifting. This helps build muscle with intensity and also lots of reps.

In the music video for Eminem’s ‘I Need A Doctor’ which he features on, you can see Dre performing many workouts similar to what he will do at home.

When Dre is weightlifting he reportedly focuses on two body parts per each lifting session. For example, pectorals and back, or biceps and triceps. This level of intensity plus reps will lead to much of the muscle he builds.

It’s reported that Dre will do 10-15 reps of around 2 – 4 sets, this is common for building heavy set muscle in men.

Bodyweight exercises are also encouraged by the famed producer. He suggests that bodyweight will be as vital as intense weightlifting workouts as the bodyweight exercise help fortify the muscles we use to lift.

Dre reportedly runs on his treadmill for a few miles before working out. We can guarantee a lot of cardiovascular workouts are required to achieve a body to fat ratio that Dre clearly puts on show. This will work most effectively with a good low carb, high protein diet.

Dr. Dre’s Diet

As mentioned, Dr. Dre physique is generally very low fat to muscle ratio. In combination with intense strength training and cardiovascular workouts, Dre will also have a very streamlined diet that supports the physique he is seeking.

It’s likely that Dre will consume some form of supplements, it’s most likely this is some combination of creatine and protein powder alongside some multivitamins that help his body perform.

This will work well in conjunction with a high protein diet full of healthy fat. Dre will cut out carbs to prevent unnecessary weight gain but he will also consume a good amount of vegetables too.

Many report that Dr. Dre eats a pescatarian diet, which means he won’t eat any meat that isn’t fish. This will make a lot of sense if he is taking protein supplements, his body can get more vegetables in which will help fortify his strength and immune system, let’s not forget that Dre is 57 and while he certainly looks 30, still, his heart may not – especially having been in N.W.A.

We can expect that Dr. Dre will still eat some sugar as well as other ‘cheat meals’ in order to maintain weight and other parts of a balanced diet.

Summary

Dr. Dre’s physique has certainly gained him a lot of attention. He reportedly hired a celebrity trainer after he decided to prioritize his health, this likely led to his pescatarian life choices as well as the detailed workout program that will have been cherry picked for his physique.
